Indiana Firefly

Here's Indiana Firefly, a John Reischman tune from his 1999 CD Up In The Woods, which has a lot of great little tunes for mandolin pickers. There's a transcription on Mandozine, along with a lot of other transcriptions of Reischman tunes.

Resichman got his start with the Tony Rice Unit in the late 1970's, living in California until the 1990's when he moved to Vancouver, BC. He performs regularly, most notably with his band The Jaybirds. He's well known for the fine tone of his mandolin picking, and his tastefully understated compositions.

  1. I'm starting to miss your posts. I hope you have not given up mando blogging. Many of your posts have inspired me to practice more as an amateur mando player. The Bach prelude was especially excellent and I have managed to perfect it and am moving on. Keep blogging please when you can. vty Bob from VA.

  2. Hi David! I love your play and maybe you could help me with music sheets for the Star of the County Down that you play?
    Many thanks and good luck!
